MasterPlast was founded in 2000 on strong know-how in crosslinked polyethylene foams and masterbatches and has progressively evolved into a European reference in XPE foam plants and technology, combining machinery, products and process know-how.

Over twenty years turning foam expertise into XPE foam plants

MasterPlast is an Italian company specialised in chemical crosslinked polyethylene (XPE) foams and in the development of masterbatches and additives dedicated to this technology. Over the years, the company has transformed its experience in materials and processes into a new concept of XPE foam production plant, designed to make in-house foam production more accessible, efficient and reliable for converters.

By integrating XPE foam plants, dedicated masterbatches and technical support, MasterPlast can support customers from the initial project idea to stable, industrial-scale production.

Our History

MasterPlast was established in 2000 to exploit the strong technological expertise of its founders in crosslinked polyethylene foams. From the very beginning, the company focused on the development of exothermic blowing and crosslinking masterbatches for XPE, and progressively expanded its portfolio to include a wide range of plastic additives.

Thanks to the experience and professionalism recognised by the market, MasterPlast has grown in importance and turnover year after year, in Italy and abroad.

As its material know-how evolved, MasterPlast developed a new approach to crosslinked polyethylene foam production, based on a significant simplification of the production process. Using advanced technologies in electronics, power supply and air heating, the company designed a new concept of XPE production plant that makes use of pre-dispersed materials (masterbatches) instead of complex in-house formulations.

In 2007, MasterPlast moved its production site to Cornate d’Adda (MB), tripling its production facilities and consolidating its industrial base.

In 2009, the company strengthened its focus on European and extra-European markets, increasing its export activities, which today account for more than half of total turnover. MasterPlast currently supplies customers in France, Belgium, England, Spain, Germany, Poland, Serbia, Portugal, Greece, Russia, Turkey, Morocco, Egypt, India and the United Arab Emirates, among other countries.

In 2013, MasterPlast expanded further by incorporating a colour masterbatches division. This allowed the company to reinforce its position in the colour masterbatch market and to extend its offer to a wide range of thermoplastic products.

Our Philosophy

MasterPlast works in close cooperation with its customers, analysing their needs and identifying the most appropriate technological and human resources to achieve the best possible results. The goal is that every cooperation leads to a higher level of satisfaction for both the supplier and the customer.

At the core of MasterPlast’s philosophy is the idea of using technology to simplify. Production lines, processes and support services are designed to make XPE foam production:

  • Easier to manage for operators,

  • More efficient in terms of energy use and output,

  • More accessible for converters that want to integrate XPE foam production into their existing business.

This approach translates into practical, user-oriented solutions, rather than purely theoretical or overly complex systems.

Today

Today, MasterPlast is recognised as a European leader in XPE foam plant solutions and as a key producer of mastered blowing and curing agents for crosslinked polyethylene foams. The company offers a broad range of products, including:

  • Blowing agents,

  • Peroxides and crosslinking masterbatches,

  • Flame retardants,

  • Heat and light stabilisers,

  • Colour masterbatches.

These materials are developed to work in synergy with MasterPlast’s XPE foam plants, ensuring consistent quality and repeatable performance.

Supported by its production site in Cornate d’Adda, its laboratory facilities and an export-oriented organisation, MasterPlast combines materials, machinery and process know-how to support customers worldwide in building and optimising their XPE foam production.
